Life and Chaos

Painted early December 2007 the title says it all. I think that "Life" and "Chaos" go hand in hand. A quote that I picked up recently from a public speaking competition that I attended, ties in really well with this " It is easy to complicate but difficult to simplify ". How true is that ?

Liberty

In August 2007 I spent time in the UK and France where I managed to see some great Art at the Tate Modern, National Gallery of London and the Musee D'Osay in Paris. For two months after I arrived back in Adelaide,I struggled to paint anything. Finally I got back the inspiration. "Liberty" is one of the paintings that I created in November 2007. It is a mixed media work on canvas and its dimentions are 1m x 1m . The main colours utilised are blue,silver and red. Like most of these pieces,each time you view the painting you something new in it. This painting sold mid January 2008 at Broadway Furniture, 70 Broadway, Glenelg.

Untitled with Blue and Gold

This painting created itself middle of June as I prepared for the Launch of "The Creative Spirit". This was an exhibition that was held at Wilderness School and was a collection of Artworks produced by a group of people with memory loss who still live in the community. The workshops were facilitated by myself and ran from March till late June. The launch was very successful and was attended by about 80 people.

Re-discovering Aphrodite

I painted this Artwork in April 2007 especially for the Cultural display at Glendi 2007. It sold on the 22nd April at Glendi to an Adelaide collector.

Wndow

This painting has been titled 'Window' because the viewer can gaze through the golden frame to a textured landscape or landscapes. Mixed media on canvas using texture medium and acrylic paints. It can be viewed at the Urban Rhythm exhibition from the 2nd of April.

Golden Silver

This artwork was created with multiple layers of paint in December 2006. It was donated as a prize at a Fundraiser for the Adelaide Boys choir which occured in December.

City Rain

This Artwork was painted with acrylic paint on canvas. It is 76 centimetres square in size. Interesting texture has been created by layers of paint and gives it a three dimentional quality. I had a great time producing this artwork and it would look stunning in a contemporary lounge or dining room.

Sunset and Celebration

A small artwork incorporating embroidery, fabric, jewellery and acrylic paint on stretched canvas. This is available for sale and will be exhibited in April 2007 at South West Community Centre in Sturt Street.

December Exhibition by Faith Thorley and Evie Photakis

On December 3rd 2006 I decided to host a Charity Art Exhibition /Afternoon Tea at my house with a fellow artist.
It went really well with about 60 people attending. It
is definetely worth doing again in 2007 as it was a worthwhile fundraiser.

The Spirit Dances (2004)

I painted this artwork in 2004 and it is now in a private dwelling in Seacombe Heights. I observe lots of movement in this
artwork and have named it appropriately. It is one of my larger artworks (over a metre square).
