Stillness

Stillness is painted in oils which is a new medium for me. I really enjoyed that the fact that I had a lot of time to push the paint around before it dried which was a welcome change from working with acrylic paints.

Lilies in Sepia

This painting is based on the same subject as Rosie's Lilies. The sepia ink used to create this piece highlights the delicacy and the beauty of the human spirit

This Triptych is a mixed media work evoking the serene dry landscape of Central Australia which changes rapidly to inland lakes during the wet season.

Artist working on Uluru

I thought it would be useful to include a photograph of artist working to prepare for upcoming exhibition. This studio is quite a cold space in Adelaide winters so it is helpful if one works quickly.

Uluru ( Spirit of our Land)

This work is still in progress. I just bought more acrylic paint today and got stuck into adding some vibrancy to this painting. I think I am prefering to work in oils though there is a place for acrylics in my life as well. Any feedback is welcome as I progress with this work. Email :eviephotakis@hotmail.com.

Rosey's Lilies

These flowers were given to me as a thank you from a friend and I wanted to capture their essence and beauty. I used oil pastel and acrylic on watercolour paper endeavouring to create a gentle quality.
